GARDAÍ are seeking help from the public to find an armed robber who held up Blarney Post Office yesterday.
A man entered the post office at approximately 1.45pm yesterday afternoon brandishing a gun and demanding cash.
He was believed to be carrying a sawn-off shotgun which he used to threaten a female member of staff.
He left the premises with a sum of money and fled the scene in a dark car, believed to be a 1999 or 2000-registered Toyota Avensis. A spokesperson for the gardaí described the armed robber as around 5ft 7ins tall.
“The raider is described as being male, wearing a black hooded Adidas jacket with Liverpool crest on the front, white stripes on the sleeves and large Adidas logo on the back with Standard Chartered written underneath.
“He wore black Adidas bottoms with stripes on both sides, gloves and black formal shoes,” said the spokesperson.
Gardaí are reviewing CCTV footage and carrying out enquiries in the village, but are also seeking people with any information to come forward.
“We are anxious to hear from anybody who may have seen this man in the Toyota Avensis, either before, or after, the robbery,” the spokesman said.
